U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Martin Glenn on MF Global Inc.’s customers can get another $2.2-billion distribution, allowing them to recover 72% of what they lost when the brokerage failed.

Most of the transfers will go out in the next few days, though some will take two to four weeks, James Kobak, a lawyer for Giddens, told Glenn. “Suspicious transactions” in the days before the brokerage’s parent filed for bankruptcy, and the shortfall in the brokerage’s segregated customer accounts may still be $1.2 billion.

The March disaster knocked out atomic plant's cooling system and sent its reactors into meltdown, spewing radiation into the air, sea and food chain in the worst nuclear accident since the 1986 Chernobyl disaster.

Thursday - UBS Investment Research sees further weakness in the physical prices of property given the severity of the govt's new measures unveiled on Wednesday.

Goldman Sachs - " We believe each of the key residential demand drivers, foreign buying, job creation and credit availability, will likely see signs of softness."

Morgan calls underweight on S'pore property, sees 20% correction throughout most of 2012.

Standchart, already forecasted that SG property will correct up to 30%.

Daiwa Securities Capital, issued a -ve call on the SG residential property segment, forecasting that home prices are likely to fall by 22 to 26% from end-2011 to end-2014.

P & N Holdings, a holding  Co of  PropNex Realty, said that the harsh cooling measures are expected to lead to a slowdown in SG private property.

teeth53 thot - Measures came abit late liao..never the rest it is much better then not to cool the  bubble from been  blown to too big and till the moment it burst. That will be too late when world economy is slowing.

It'll far better then to be caught by surprises  on economy down turn, if turn out worst then expected.

Japan is struggling to put an end to the nuclear crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.

A full-scale decontamination of areas around the facility is also set to take place with the help of the Self Defense Force. A govt panel believes all this would cost at least US$73 billion.

As the Japanese govt rethinks the country's nuclear policy, Governor of Shizuoka Heita Kawakatsu has said the prefecture can find alternative sources of energy in three years. Shizuoka Prefecture in central Japan is home to Hamaoka Nuclear Power Station.

Operator. Chubu Electric Power Co, has  5 units, capable of producing 5 mil kilo watts of power. None of them are operating at this moment as  all 5  were shutdown. The plant was not affected by the March earthquake and tsunami, but it lies on a fault line with an 80% chance of an earthquake occurring in the next 30 years.

In an exclusive interview with Channel NewsAsia (CNA), Mr Kawakatsu said: " I asked the electric  Co. Chubu if they were prepared for these tsunamis. They said yes. I said you are not prepared for more than 10 metres above sea level tsunami. They said, would build walls initially 12 metres. Now it's 18 metres. The shape is...against the sea. It will take until the end of next year. You should not reopen a plant which is now being checked."

There are 54 nuclear reactors in Japan. Reactors are being shut down one after another. And by next spring, there may be none running. These regions need to find alternative energy sources. Shizuoka's Governor believes he will be able to find alternative sources of energy in three years.

By their...Nuclear Expert.... Tokyo Electric Power Co. said Thursday it was considering dumping more nuclear-contaminated water from the Fukushima power plant into the sea. it would be the 2nd  time it has deliberately released radiation-tainted water into the ocean since reactors began melting down at Fukushima in the wake of the March 11 tsunami. (teeth53 thot - fish will born without eye and in deform without fin..?) 

Within weeks of the world's worst nuclear crisis since Chernobyl, TEPCO dumped more than 10,000 tons of low-level radioactive water into the Pacific.



Meanwhile their air and earth is contamination, alway ensuring is safe to eat and drink.

    I mean another < 0.006 cents down, from from 0.070 cent traded.

    To me, think is a good buy when it hit 0.06 cents.

    Rich oversea clients where got problem, at most rich rent to rich, just add another 10% more oni.

    Yet another 'make or break' summit this week??. as German govt source, speaking Wed on condition of anonymity, dampened hopes for a deal, saying he had become " more pessimistic" in recent weeks for a " total agreement" at the Brussels summit.

    Wed - US stocks fell  after Germany signaled diminished expectations for a crucial EU summit to address the eurozone debt crisis.

    Markets were on tenterhooks for the start of the two-day European Union summit Thursday, with speculation rising that leaders would forge a substantial agreement to contain the spreading debt crisis.
