OIC, " by hiring her" to run a public transportation organization, make  ton of profit, that true, true, and

oso leaving  a long trial of problems and now cannot cover back all the loop hole.

Really again make me think of Mr Hsieh (Ex-SGX CEO).

lausk22      ( Date: 20-Dec-2011 12:32) Posted:

hmm...

By hiring her, it was hoped that she saw the problems before they arose sharpen the saw of her engineers to saw off the problems when they arise. So now that the problems are here, we must give her time to take her leave after she has over-saw the recovery process. Does that answer your doubts, my lau peng you?

It takes so many years to create the mess caused mainly by focussing

on peripheral retailing and shopping activities, rather than improving the core

transport services and system  for the masses of commuters. Rather than

putting a retailing practitioner like Saw at the helm, wouldn't  it have been

more sensible to specifically head-hunt a qualified person for the job?... Smiley

" Privatise MRT is to push responsibility to others" ..." SMRT failure" , " transport minister or govt should be answerable"

OIC.  Ministry should be  answerable following SMRT failure, not  board of Directors. Do PM  have to answer it?.

Made me think of SIA, Silk Air, Tiger Air and the newest Scoot  (air transportation), ComfortDelGro, SBS Transit (land transportation), PSA, NOL (Sea transportation).

Why den setup a board of Director?, Chairman for the board, Deputy Chair, CEO and even deputy CEO or even SVPand so on....?

Hope  to get, further enlightening B4...public inquiry is out.

I pity her.... What she is doing now may not be her wish....  She is just a pawn controlling by someone behind..... One of the reason why government privatise MRT is to push responsibility to others...  SMRT failure, transport minister or government should be answerable... We are all distracted.... lol

White cat /  Black cat or even grey....Good cat?? or a good catch for this cat....humm.

Leaving a trail of ugly, damaging track all the way in order to catch rat. humm.

OIC. A good cat. SOP operation all gone wrong.

Whether it is a black cat or White cat, so long as it can catch the mouse, it is a good cat. Have you received your yearly dividend yet?

She has made so many millions since year 2002 onwards as CEO, all the share holders were happy at that span of time.... Why, only these isolated incidents, not at all that is her fault, that she must resign... right? Since no live was lost, only a hours of inconvenience, we should let her stay and clear up those 'mess' as soon as possible.... Agree????

Is just my logical advise...don talk so much and do nothings after nine years.

" I am staying put" ..to do battle..?. What battle half way.? what  type of General or General staff SMRT can show to effected commuters.

Just one word --- Sori  lohh.

teeth53      ( Date: 19-Dec-2011 21:08) Posted:

Be it now or later. She is still answerable to public inquiry committee setup by PM LHL.

Be prepare for the worst, then to do battle on SOP.

another one breakdown this morning  on the North-South line between Marina Bay and Newton were disrupted this morning since 7am, this comes just two days after a major glitch affected 127,000 passengers during rush hour on Thursday evening.

before the big heads roll, the smaller heads always get to fall first ....

sometimes it is quite possible for disgruntled unhappy technicians or engineers to sabotage the  train service as they know the in-and-out of the technicality....OR

due to overloaded work pressure (more frequency less manpower lesser checks) ...

http://sg.finance.yahoo.com/news/MF-Global-prober-much-money-rsg-341654258.html?x=0

Commodity Futures Trading Commission's investigation said on Friday.

CFTC Commissioner Jill Sommers, who heads up one of several probes of a massive shortfall in money that was supposed to be segregated for MF Global customers, said in a statement that " dozens of auditors, investigators and attorneys" are continuing to work on the case.

But " subsequent transfers of those funds are currently being traced, and there is still a lot of work to do" before the CFTC will be in a position to identify the exact source of the shortfall and work to pay back customers, Sommers said.

Most customers have already been paid back about 72 percent of the value of their accounts.

MF Global filed for bankruptcy on October 31 after it was forced to reveal that it had made a $6.3 billion bet on European sovereign debt, spooking investors and customers.

Regulators and others probing MF Global say a huge chunk missing, but they cannot agree on the amount. James Giddens, the court-appointed trustee liquidating the brokerage, has estimated the shortfall at $1.2 billion. Earlier estimates by other regulators pegged it at $600 million, while CME Group, MF Global's front-line regulator, has put it at between $700 million and $900 million.

MF Global's former CEO, ex-New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine, resigned on November 4. In three days of testimony before three separate Congressional panels, he has said he does not know what happened to the missing money.
